Whither the R-Rated Comedy?

The results for R-rated comedies this year have been lackluster. Between No Hard Feelings, Strays, The Blackening, and Joy Ride—as well as slightly more sophisticated fare like You Hurt My Feelings and Asteroid City—there hasn’t been a breakout hit all year, nor for some time before that.
