I care about the Winter Olympics, and have for 60 years. I look forward to them and am amazed by the athleticism and determination of the Olympians. I have never stood on skis or skates, but the stories like the skier who went from having a broken neck to winning a silver medal, and the sight of the winner of a competition huddling with and comforting the person she bested, are inspirational and exemplary. My watching the Olympics will have no impact at all on the fate of the Uyghurs or the entrance of representatives of the WHO. All I know is I love watching these lion hearts in winter.

Only when the Paralympics come on next month. I don't even care to hear the summary on news stations or streaming service. I mute or change the channel or stop watching the stream.

Now - give me a MLS or International football (soccer) match.... or a bunch of them. And that's a different story

Wait… there are Winter Olympics going on now? I’m a skier and I really don’t care to watch when I can’t actually do. Especially given the history of the actions of the IOC…
